Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric (RN Psych)
Location: Cooperstown, NY 13326
Assignment: 13 Weeks | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Schedule: Variable nights, including weekdays and weekends
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Required
Pay Rate: Local: $1,966/week | Travel: $2,281/week
Position Summary "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking
Registered Nurse - Psychiatric (RN Psych) for an exciting job in
Cooperstown, NY . Responsibilities - Administer medications safely and accurately
- Complete timely and thorough documentation
- Provide clinical oversight and support for Nursing Assistants/Techs
- Assist with direct patient care as needed, including 1:1 observation
- Perform required hourly rounding (RNs rotate patient checks)
- Participate in safety protocols, including restraint/seclusion room procedures
- Collaborate with security for restraint situations (transitioning to TRUST de-escalation model)
- Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for all patients
Required Skills & Experience - Experience in acute psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
- Ability to work in a secure, locked unit
- Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Flexibility to support the unit during expansion and changes in patient census
- Comfortable functioning as a sitter or assisting with tech-level tasks when needed
Certifications & Training - Required: None currently
- Upcoming Requirement: TRUST de-escalation certification (provided by facility)
