Instructional Aide Per Diem, School-Based Opportunities Lisle, IL
Support student success in a rewarding, flexible per diem role as an Instructional Aide in Lisle area schools. Position Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support under teacher guidance
- Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
- Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
- Support mobility, supervision, and personal care requirements
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Required Qualifications (Illinois School Compliance):
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Possession of a Paraprofessional Educator License (PEL)
- Up-to-date TB test in accordance with district policies
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
- All required background clearances current or willingness to obtain prior to start
Preferred Experience:
- Prior work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care communities
- Experience assisting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certifications in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT (Professional Crisis Management Training), or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong reliability, patience, and collaborative team approach
