Instructional Aide Per Diem, School-Based Opportunities Lisle, IL

Support student success in a rewarding, flexible per diem role as an Instructional Aide in Lisle area schools. Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support under teacher guidance
  • Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
  • Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
  • Support mobility, supervision, and personal care requirements
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Required Qualifications (Illinois School Compliance):

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Possession of a Paraprofessional Educator License (PEL)
  • Up-to-date TB test in accordance with district policies
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
  • All required background clearances current or willingness to obtain prior to start

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care communities
  • Experience assisting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • Certifications in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT (Professional Crisis Management Training), or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) beneficial but not mandatory
  • Strong reliability, patience, and collaborative team approach
