Salary: $30-$35 / hour

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Commercial Carpenter to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial carpentry including but not limited to framing various partition types and wall systems, Cabinetry installation, Acoustical ceiling installation, installation of doors and windows, etc. The ideal candidate has experience working in commercial applications such as Office buildings, schools, retail, and hospitality.

This Role is a field position. Our current projects are within a 2 hour drive of the Chicago area. We currently have a large project on the south side of Milwaukee and would require travel back and forth. Our staff does have the option to lodge in Milwaukee if they choose to. Some projects include a per diem stipend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Construct, install, and repair frameworks, structures, and fixtures (e.g., walls, ceilings, doors, windows, stairs, etc.) in commercial buildings.
  • Measure and cut materials such as wood, drywall, and other construction materials with precision.
  • Install and finish drywall, install trim, and other woodwork.
  • Operate carpentry tools and equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople (e.g., electricians, plumbers) to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site, adhering to safety standards and protocols

Qualifications

  • Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
  • Proven experience as a carpenter, with a focus on commercial construction.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to measure and cut materials accurately and safely.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and work in varying conditions.
